The Lee County District Attorney’s Child Support Unit acts as the legal counsel for the Lee County Department of Human Resources in court actions for paternity establishment and enforcement of child support orders. The District Attorney’s office only handles cases that Lee County Department of Human Resources is a party to and refers to the District Attorney’s office. To apply for child support services, click here. The unit is made up of an Assistant District Attorney, one child support enforcement coordinator, and four child support enforcement workers.
This office currently facilitates the collection of an average of $9,900,000 in child support payments per year for the children of Lee County. Additionally, collections include reimbursements of benefits paid as temporary aid to needy families.
