Lee County Alabama Internship Program

The internship program at the Lee County District Attorney’s Office is designed to provide students with valuable opportunities in all aspects of prosecutorial work. We welcome you to apply for one of our highly rewarding legal or non-legal internship positions. During an unpaid internship with our office, Interns are assigned to an Assistant District Attorney or legal staff who handle misdemeanors, felonies, capital murder cases, Grand Jury, Civil, Crimes Against Children, or Domestic Violence and you may help prepare cases for hearings and trials, conduct research, write briefs, and assist with investigations. In some cases, internships may provide opportunities to make court appearances.

What You Can Expect as an Intern

Primarily, working at the District Attorney’s Office is a fun and rewarding experience. As an intern, it is expected that you work with care and diligence in completing your assignments. In return, interns can expect an enjoyable and educational experience learning about criminal law, the courts, and the role the DA plays as an advocate for the people. The attorneys and personnel in the office act as mentors to guide you through the oftentimes challenging work.
