This office is responsible for representing the people of the State of Alabama in the prosecution of criminal cases and various civil actions. It works closely with the Auburn Police Department, the Opelika Police Department, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, and state law enforcement agencies working within Lee County.
The District Attorney’s office represents the people of the State of Alabama in prosecuting all felony criminal cases and certain misdemeanor offenses which occur within the county. Our office is located in the TK Davis Justice Center in Opelika.

Ms. Jessica Ventiere is a native of Enterprise, Alabama. She graduated from Troy State University before earning her law degree from Cumberland School of Law in Birmingham, Alabama in 2003. She has been a prosecutor for more than 15 years in the State of Alabama. Prior to her appointment, Ms. Ventiere served as Chief Assistant District Attorney for Lee County, and the Second Judicial Circuit, which serves Butler, Crenshaw, and Lowndes Counties.
